Hi Fellow Coffee lover/adventurer. Everyone has their own Vietnam experience, this is a bit of ours...

We’re Lien and David, founders of Fresh off the Boat Coffee— and this is a little bit about us. 

Lien was born in Vietnam and came to Australia as a really cute baby refugee in 1982

. 

We met 2003, married, and started our life together in Geraldton WA before moving to Vietnam

 What started as a visit, turned into a 10 year life in Vietnam!

While we were there, we were introduced to the wonderful world of Vietnamese coffee.

 We learned that coffee is not just coffee. Its a daily ritual, and its also provides the energy that some of these farmers, street sellers, labourers live on. Sipping on this super sweet/strong coffee while working hard..

At first we didnt really like it. We were just used to drinking a pretty tame, milky flat white from Aus cafes. Then we stopped trying to make it taste like Aussie coffee and embraced the strength, the nuttiness, the bold mocha taste, and became a full-on "cafe sua da" convert!

. In 2018, we moved back to Oz and started initially importing roasted coffee beans from Vietnam. But we soon realised that Australians want fresh, locally roasted. Today, we roast fresh Vietnamese coffee ourselves, right here in Perth. We keep improving our beans and methods until we can honestly say its one of the best coffees weve ever tasted.. Seriously we are addicted to our own product...

Our goal is to simply create the best coffee we can, and to share the rich culture and flavour of Vietnamese beverage with you. We strongly believe in doing things which will help the Vietnamese people in the long term and supporting the most diligent and honest producers in Vietnam
