About Robusta

Robusta Coffees arent your  normal coffee...

....

Robusta beans come from the Coffea canephora plant and are known for their bold, strong flavor, high caffeine content, and resistance to pests and diseases.
They have about twice the caffeine of Arabica beans and a more bitter, earthy, and nutty taste, making them ideal for Milk based and Iced Coffees

Vietnamese Robusta is considered some of the best in the world for several reasons:
1. Ideal Climate & Soil – Vietnam has perfect growing conditions for Robusta, with rich volcanic soil, high humidity, and optimal temperatures in regions like the Central Highlands (Buôn Ma Thuột, Đắk Lắk).

2. Traditional & Innovative Processing – Many farmers use unique processing methods like honey processing and natural drying, which enhance the bean’s sweetness and complexity. FOB Coffee is also happy to cooperate with Will Nguyen who is producing a specialty anaerobic robusta, which undergoes a careful 30 day production process.

3. Strong, Distinct Flavor – Vietnamese Robusta is known for its deep chocolatey, nutty, and sometimes caramel-like notes, making it popular in Vietnamese coffee styles (e.g., cà phê sữa đá).

4. High Quality Control & Export Standards – Vietnam is the world’s largest producer of Robusta, and the industry has focused on improving quality to compete with Arabica beans in specialty coffee markets.

Because of these factors, Vietnamese Robusta is gaining recognition beyond mass-market coffee and is now used in high-end espresso blends and specialty brews. Will you try it?
